Part of being a disciple of Jesus is continuing to grow—learning to recognize what the Holy Spirit is teaching us and putting it into practice.
At AFN, we are learning to do exactly that. We want everything we do to be shaped by the good news of Jesus Christ. Sometimes we proclaim it with words. Sometimes we proclaim it through the way we serve, love, welcome, pray, teach, and care for one another.
Ministry isn’t something a few people do. Following Jesus means each of us has a part to play. Everybody has something to bring. And when everyone brings something, nobody has to bring everything.
You don’t have to do what somebody else does. You just have to bring what God put in you.
Come learn to follow Jesus alongside us—and discover where God might be inviting you to serve.

GATHER
WE WERE NEVER MEANT TO FOLLOW JESUS ALONE.
Following Jesus happens in community. We gather to worship, pray, learn, encourage one another, share meals, tell stories, laugh, and walk through real life together.
Sometimes that happens on a Sunday morning. Sometimes it happens around a table, in a Connection Group, at Midweek, or in a conversation that lasts longer than anyone planned.
We believe we need God’s presence—and we need each other.
You don’t have to have everything figured out to find your place here.
GROW
DISCIPLESHIP IS A JOURNEY.
Following Jesus means we never stop growing. We open God’s Word, pray with and for one another, ask honest questions, listen for the Holy Spirit, and learn to follow Jesus in everyday life.
That kind of growth happens in lots of ways at AFN—through Connection Groups, Bible studies, conversations, and simply walking through life with people who are learning right alongside us.
None of us has arrived. We’re growing together—and there’s room for you in the journey.
SERVE
EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING TO BRING.
Jesus showed us that serving others is part of what love looks like. At AFN, we want to be people who notice one another, make room for one another, meet needs, and use what God has given us for the good of someone else.
Sometimes that means welcoming someone, investing in the next generation, working behind the scenes, praying with someone, or simply being present when someone needs a friend. We serve because people matter.
And there’s room on both sides of that. You can come and let us serve you. Or, as AFN becomes home, you may discover ways God can use what He has placed in you to serve someone else.
That’s the kind of family we want to be—receiving grace, giving grace, and making room for one another.
GO
THE GOOD NEWS WAS NEVER MEANT TO STOP WITH US.
Following Jesus means we are sent people. The Good News isn’t something we simply receive—it becomes something we carry into the places God has already put us.
Sometimes that means across the street. Sometimes across the city or around the world. Our homes, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods are all places where we can love people, serve needs, share Jesus, and respond when the Holy Spirit opens a door.
Living on mission doesn’t always mean going somewhere new. Often, it means following Jesus right where we already are.

MIDWEEK CONNECT
WE NEED MORE THAN SUNDAY.
Following Jesus was never meant to be something we do for an hour or two once a week. We need time with God, and we need time with one another. Midweek Connect gives us space to slow down, pray, talk, laugh, learn, share life, and remember that we don’t have to walk through life alone.
Every Wednesday begins with prayer. At 6:00 PM, we gather in the Sanctuary to seek God, listen for the Holy Spirit, and pray for one another, our church, our families, and our community. From there, Midweek takes different shapes throughout the year. Some weeks we go deeper through seasonal Bible studies, classes, and men’s or women’s groups. And sometimes we simply gather around the table for Midweek Family—a meal, fellowship, worship, prayer, and time to enjoy being together.
What happens after prayer may look different from week to week, but the heart stays the same: We need God’s presence. And we need each other. Check our Events page to see what’s happening this Wednesday and throughout the month.
LIFE AT AFN
MINISTRY LOOKS LIKE PEOPLE LOVING PEOPLE.
Ministry at AFN isn’t limited to what happens from the platform—or even what happens inside the building. It happens whenever people use what God has given them to love, serve, encourage, teach, welcome, pray for, and care for someone else.
Some of that happens in ways you’ll notice. A worship team leading us toward Jesus. Someone welcoming you when you walk through the doors. Adults investing in the next generation. People using technology to help others worship with us from somewhere else.
And much of it happens in ways most people will never see.

What you’ve seen here is only a glimpse of life at AFN. Throughout the year, there are opportunities to gather, grow, serve, and simply be together—from men’s and women’s gatherings and GriefShare to special studies, community outreach, events, and moments that happen simply because someone saw a need and stepped in.
We’re learning to follow Jesus together—and there’s room for you to be part of it.
