PLAN YOUR VISIT
MAYBE YOU HAVE SOME QUESTIONS.
Maybe church has always been part of your life. Maybe it’s been a while. Maybe you’ve never walked through the doors of a church before.
Wherever you’re coming from, you probably have questions.
We thought it was worth answering some of them—the kinds of questions many of us wish someone had answered for us at one point or another.
So, here are a few things you might want to know before your first visit.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET THERE?
Honestly, there’s a good chance you’ll find people standing around talking.
Our foyer is one of the places where community happens at AFN. There’s always coffee and donuts or pastries, and people tend to hang around before and after worship because we genuinely enjoy being together.
You don’t need to know anybody before you come. Walk in, grab some coffee, and make yourself at home.
WHEN DOES EVERYTHING START?

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Whatever you’re comfortable in.
You’ll see jeans, dresses, button-downs, T-shirts, and just about everything in between. There’s no dress code and no expectation that you need to look a certain way to come to church.
Come as you are. Really.
WILL SOMEBODY SINGLE ME OUT?
Nope.
We’re genuinely glad you’re here, but we’re not going to ask you to stand up, introduce yourself, or wear a “visitor” badge.
Someone will probably say hello. Someone may offer you coffee. But you’re free to settle in, take it all in, and participate at your own pace.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
We love having children at AFN—and we believe they’re an important part of the church family.
Children are welcome in worship, and we also provide age-appropriate opportunities for them to learn about Jesus, build relationships, and know they belong.
If you’re not sure where to go when you arrive, just ask. We’ll help you and your family find your way.
WHAT IS THE WORSHIP SERVICE LIKE?
Our worship is contemporary and heartfelt, and our preaching is biblical and practical.
But more than anything, we want to make room for the presence of God.
We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active, so there may be moments when we pause, pray, respond, or simply listen. We don’t try to manufacture those moments—we just want to be willing to follow where God leads.
You don’t have to know what to do or how to respond. Just come.
DO I NEED TO BRING A BIBLE?
You don’t have to—but we hope you’ll come to love bringing one.
We believe the Word of God is essential to following Jesus and learning to live like Him. Scripture is an important part of our worship, and the passages we’re reading will also be on the screens so everyone can follow along.
Bring your Bible, use one on your phone, or simply follow along with us. And if you don’t own a Bible yet, we’d love to help you get one.
NOT SURE WHAT YOU BELIEVE?
You’re still welcome here.
You don’t have to have all the answers, or even know exactly what you believe, to walk through the doors at AFN. There’s room for questions, doubts, and honest conversations.
We believe Jesus meets people where they are, and we want to do the same. We won’t ask you to pretend you’re somewhere you’re not.
Come as you are. Ask questions. Take your time. There’s a seat at the table for you.
HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?
Our worship service typically lasts about an hour and a half.
We believe in making room for the Holy Spirit to lead, so while no two Sundays are exactly the same, most weeks follow a pretty familiar pattern.
We begin at 10:30 AM with worship, take a few moments to greet and welcome everyone, hear a message from God’s Word, and are usually wrapping up by noon.
We want to worship Jesus, hear from His Word, and make room to respond to whatever the Holy Spirit is doing.
WHERE DO I GO WHEN I ARRIVE?
Come through the main entrance and you’ll walk right into our foyer—the place where you’ll usually find people talking, drinking coffee, and catching up before worship.
If you’re not sure where to go from there, just ask. Someone will be glad to help you find the sanctuary, children’s area, Connection Group, or wherever you’re headed.
You don’t have to know your way around before you get here. We’ll help you find your way.
There’s a place for you here, and we look forward to meeting you.
